Volunteer at LEAP!
People make LEAP GO!
Our small, part-time staff is powerful, but extra hands are always needed! You can join us in two ways:

1) as a volunteer tutor, working one-on-one with a child who is 6-12 yrs old, helping them improve their reading skills.
2) as a classroom volunteer in one of our preschool classrooms, playing with our students.
NO NEED TO SPEAK SPANISH to volunteer with LEAP.
You MUST like children!
Fill out an application, and we'll talk about how you'd like to participate in LEAP!
Volunteer as a Tutor
Our tutoring pairs have the option to meet in-person or on-line. We are happily accepting applications for tutors who are fairly comfortable with technology - using zoom to meet with their student, or tutors can work with their student in-person at the downtown Durham Main public library. Whether tutoring on-line or in-person you will be using an online curriculum to help you support your student.

Preschool Classroom Volunteer
Our Preschool teachers always need an extra set of hands! If you could commit to being with our youngest children (ages 3-4) one morning each week on a regular basis, please submit an application to become a Preschool Classroom Volunteer. We do not require masks in the preschool. All staff are vaccinated and we strongly encourage all volunteers who are not vaccinated to wear a mask while inside with students.
